Our personnel, working in over 30 occupations, are our greatest resource. We are a highly capable force consisting of full-time Regular soldiers, part-time Reservists serving in our communities and Canadian Rangers from remote locations in Canada.
Jobs in the Army vary from combat specialists to health care providers. Our technically advanced force employs communications technicians, vehicle technicians and geomatic technicians, as well as infantry soldiers, gunners and vehicle crew members. You will undergo training similar to real operations that will challenge your mental and physical abilities.

Apply NowThe Army Reserve is the part-time component of the Canadian Army. It generates full-time capabilities from part-time service, at home and abroad. Reservists can choose to deploy based on their particular circumstances and can serve Canada from their hometown. As an integral part of the Army, Reservists benefit from its unique work experience, sense of belonging and camaraderie.
The work, life experience and leadership skills they acquire are highly valued by civilian employers. The Army guarantees four summers of full-time summer employment to new recruits, which is focused on training them to become fully qualified leaders at the end of their four years. The varied life experience that Reservists bring to the Army are an important part of its success on operations.
"I really like that you can just choose whatever you want from a list of taskings for the summer. I can basically choose my summer job every year. I love that because if I come back from school, a lot of students are trying to figure out how to make money this year. For me it's set up, it's good to go so I never need to worry."
After your Basic Military Qualification course, many occupations in the Army will then require job specific training at a Canadian Forces school or an approved post-secondary institution, depending on the occupation.
